If you are looking for that elusive person, an inspiration to people of all ages, who has tackled everything life has thrown at them and more, lives each day to the full, is passionate about life's adventures, and supports others to seize the day, then you need not search any further.
Jan Meek is an unlikely adventurer who can proudly claim to be the only woman on the planet to have rowed across an ocean and walked to two poles. More people can claim they have taken that giant leap for mankind on the moon. Sceptical? Jan has three Guinness World Records to prove it.
Having already experienced a rich, varied and yet, challenging life, Jan's adventure was only just getting started. Her son Dan Byles talked her into rowing 3,044 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean in a wooden rowing boat. In turn, ten years later she convinced him to race with her to the Magnetic North Pole. Not one to rest on her laurels, the following year she walked to the Geographic North Pole. Thinking that sounds impossible? Imagining what kind of stories you could have if you had achieved these feats?
Jan now dedicates her life to public speaking, motivating others to achieving goals they never dreamed of, inspiring people regardless of their age, gender or size and fundraising for charity.
